My Privacy Statement |
I am a single private individual, sending infrequent email to small numbers of people specifically interested in rare books, history, and related church information; not to the mass market. Everything that I do is designed to be tasteful and culturally tolerant of others.

I require everyone to opt-in to my mailing list by filling out a form at any of my nine related sites, and allow anyone to opt-out of my emailing list by returning any email with the subject line: “Unsubscribe” or “Remove”

I have never sold, rented, leased or shared my email addresses with others.

|
|
I tend to do only about one emailing effort per year.
|
|
|
I do most of my emailing to announce big news, such as major redesigns of my sites.

|
|
I have never used email addresses for marketing any product, other than not-for-profit or similar Church books (protected by free speech, and freedom of religion laws).

I do not send SPAM (unsolicited commercial email), based on legal definitions:

My email is non-commercial, so even if it was unsolicited the laws/policies about unsolicited commercial email would not apply.

My email is never unsolicited, even if the recipient does not recall in what manner that it was solicited. I have been collecting these email addresses personally since 1996. I have never purchased/obtained an emailing list from any third party.

My email does not contain false or misleading information in the subject line or header.

|
My email always has a religious basis, and is therefore protected by (1) free speech and (2) freedom of religion laws. I will defend myself against any infringement of my rights.

My email accounts are true and authentic, with accurate transmission and routing information, and every reply is received and read by me personally.

|
My email relates to domains and sites that are real and lawful, and reachable.
|
|
|
My email conforms with the statutes in even the most restrictive states (see http://www.spamlaws.com/state), which explicitly allow religious email (non-commercial email), and/or email with accurate subject lines and addresses, and/or solicited email.

My address book has your email address through any of three possibilities, either:

Through you registering (soliciting) to opt-in with your email address at one of my related sites, explicitly to get email newsletters from me.

Through you including your email address on a list of others with a common interest, which was posted with your authorization on a public directory (such as a church directory) explicitly for the purpose of inviting (soliciting) communication on the exact subject of my email.

Through your email address appearing in my personal email folders, which means either:

You sent me personal email, possibly for an inquiry that you made to me; or for an online purchase that I made from you, requiring (soliciting) follow-up correspondence related to our preexisting relationship affected by the exact subject of my email.

One of our personal mutual friends sent me your address in a letter carbon copied to both of us, thereby assuming your permission and taking responsibility for welcoming (soliciting) shared discussion on a topic that was the exact subject of my email.

You participated in an online discussion group related to rare books, history, or related church activities, thereby being open to (soliciting) professional dialogue with private people like me; and I saved one of your letters that indicated that we have a common interest that is the exact subject of my email.
